An outline or brainstorming session will give you a strong start to your essay. I suggest you start by creating a standard outline. A bulleted or numbered list is usually the best way to format an outline. If you don't want to write up a formal outline, then other brainstorming techniques might work well for you. The important thing is to get your main ideas and examples on paper before you start writing your final essay.
